A collection of short experiments I’ve been creating to explore different ways of working with AI and how it can fit into an animation workflow.
The process usually starts with an idea and concept art that I create myself. I use that as the foundation to develop the visual direction and build my prompts, then experiment with different AI tools to generate and refine the shots while keeping the style and characters consistent.
I had a lot of fun working on this animated Gatorade spot, built around a simple idea: when the game gets too hot, Gatorade unleashes the GOAT.
Since animation is my specialty, I wanted to build the project around character performance, movement, and transformation. I liked the GOAT idea, but deliberately avoided using an actual goat , that felt a little too obvious. Instead, I played with a chicken transforming into an unexpectedly overpowered football version of himself, AKA the one and only Cristiano Ronaldo.
I created the detailed storyboard myself to map out the full sequence, from the character acting and football action to the camera movement, ball-to-Gatorade transition, and final reveal.
The character development and concept art involved a lot of back and forth between Midjourney and Photoshop, with plenty of manual adjustments along the way to get the look, poses, and expressions where I wanted them.
Maintaining consistency was probably the biggest challenge, particularly through the transformation sequence. I used reference frames, iterative prompting, and manual refinement to make the individual generations feel like shots from one continuous animated film rather than a collection of separate AI clips.
The final stage was about bringing everything together through editing, compositing, pacing, transitions, and sound design, building toward the final “UNLEASH THE GOAT” reveal.
I wasn’t completely happy with the upres on this one, but I’d reached the end of my available credits, so I chose to focus the remaining time on what mattered most to me: the animation, storytelling, and overall finish of the piece.
